Schwebel: David's Journey
The inaugural exhibition at Yeshiva University Museum's new contemporary galleries, "David the King", featured 35 oil paintings by Ivan Schwebel, an American artist living in Jerusalem since the 1960's. "David's Journey" is the catalogue of that exhibition. It is composed of David the King, published in Israel in 1998, and preceded by a 48-page supplement of paintings created expressly for this exhibition. The catalogue contains a preface by Sylvia Herskowitz, Museum Director, an introduction by the artist, and an essay by Everett Fox, Allen M. Glick Professor of Biblical and Judaic Studies, Clark University.
